Scientific methodologies have surpassed the revelations of
religion as the arbiters of truth. Intuitive insights are bolstered
by mathematical equations and the scientific clergy mediate
our reflections upon our selves, our nature.
All life is characterised as a giant chemical reaction that
probably began in some sulphur-rich pools before capturing carbon
and utilising its versatile chemical characteristics to cascade
through evolution into an ever-changing multiplicity of life
forms.
Here we are. We’ve extended our senses so that we can
scrutinise everything from the miniscule to the almost infinite.
And I am left floundering with fragments of thought, relics
of belief, remnants of life.
